After all, your playing, he's biting and nipping and having a great time, but them he may cross the line, and really dig his Puppy teeth in.
How do you know when to say stop?
Let's look at a couple of factors when playing with your Puppy.
1. Never hit or slap your Puppy in the face or on the nose, this will confuse your dog.
You want to build up a good bond with your Puppy, and hitting him, will do the exact opposite, he may become scared of you.
2. Try not to play wrestling, or pulling on his play toy. This may be difficult to do, but it will only encourage the biting. The old age game of Tug of War with your Puppy, is a No No.
3. Clear communication. Know when to be kind, but firm. it's important to remember that your Puppy Dog is just that, a Dog and not a child. Some of the worlds most respected Dog Trainers still use this term, and the reason is obvious.
